…as in “Beyond Belief.” The most recent contract I worked had me reporting to an office for the first time on 16 years. When it turned out to be the same office building as I left 16 years ago, I should have perhaps taken that as a warning. That’s taking deja vu a bit far. Instead, I took a seat, right there in the middle, like a good galley oarsman.
Our team lost people – good people – along the way, but a core crew of us rowed on. Then, just as our deadline loomed and newbies clambered on board to pick up the oars, I was relieved (and I do mean relieved) of duty.
Yes, I will miss the money. No, I will not miss the situation.
