Creative Mornings Manifesto — illustrated!

Creative Mornings has a written manifesto that summarizes the beliefs that drive our members as well as the organization itself. We kick off every monthly Creative Mornings Austin (CMATX) meeting with a reading of this statement, our “pledge of allegiance” of sorts. When Ben Thoma, lead CMATX organizer, found out I will be leaving Austin soon, he asked me to do the reading this past Friday morning — so, of course I doodled some drawings to use as props.

Creative Mornings Manifesto

Everyone is creative.Everyone is creative.

A creative life requires bravery and action, honesty and hard work. We are here to support you, celebrate with you, and encourage you to make the things you love.A creative life requires bravery and action, honesty and hard work.

We believe in the power of community. We believe in giving a damn. We believe in face-to-face connections, in learning from others, in hugs and high-fives.We believe in the power of community. We believe in giving a damn.

We bring together people who are driven by passion and purpose, confident that they will inspire one another, and inspire change in neighborhoods and cities around the world. We bring together people who are driven by passion and purpose, confident that they will inspire one another and inspire change in neighborhoods and cities around the world.

Everyone is creative. Everyone is welcome.Everyone is creative.
