We’re already mostly homebound here, both by choice and by continued pandemic safety precautions, but today and tomorrow’s wintry blast is hitting us hard, even here in Cañon City, the Climate Capital of Colorado.
We’re warmer (by degrees) than our neighbors along I-25, where temps are down in the single digits. Salida, just west of us, on the other hand, is not only warmer than us but it’s even warmer than my old home town of Austin!
And we’re warmer today than we will be tomorrow. Snow will start falling in an hour or two and continue through the night as we, too, drop down into the single digit and sub-zero lows.
Can I hibernate till the middle of next week?
Meanwhile, the larder is full, as is the liquor cabinet — chili today, hot buttered rum tonight, and soup tomorrow.
Stay warm, my friends!
