My grandfather, G.M.C. (Guilford Marion Cade) Massey, was born in 1880 in rural East Texas. In 1960, he sat down and typed out reams of manuscript pages for his memoirs. Some of his tales of rural life in the late 19th century and raising 2 families in the 20th remain fascinating even today.
Unfortunately, his manuscript pages are incredibly and irretrievably jumbled, but I have extracted excerpts as I could. This index page attempts to organize the portions of his memoir manuscript pages that I have posted here on my blog.
