Look Back, Look Forward

Jan-Unk 2017

from January 2017 — still true!

We kick off each year with a visit from Janus, the Roman god of doorways and beginnings, namesake of the first month of our annual calendar. This encourages us to do a bit of a double-take, looking backward over the past year and forward to our new one.

Since it’s easier to look back at what’s been done, let’s start with a quick review of some of my most popular blog posts from this last year.

My Top 10 posts written last year:

  1. Home with the Armadillo for the Holidays
  2. Goodbye and Godspeed, Gwen
  3. Memories of my Uncle, Tom Cade Massey
  4. Heartbroken — No Words
  5. Once Upon a House (5)…Austin Again
  6. Further Thoughts on Death & Dying, Good & Bad
  7. 7 Years Ago — Songs of Will T. Massey
  8. “Weird Again” — Lyrics & Music of Will T. Massey
  9. Stella @ 3 Months
  10. Italia Welcomes Will T. Massey Back, 2006 (Part 2)

Mind you, some of the older ones drew more viewers this past, including posts about Brutus in Big Bend; memorial posts for John Vandiver and my friend, James Darsey Nelson; and parts of my SuperBetter ’16 series.

Looking forward , there’s no telling what might pop up here this year. I’m too spontaneous about my back porch musings to have any sort of plan for the year. Oh, there will definitely be more from the memoirs of my grandfather, G.M.C. Massey as well as more music & lyrics from Will T. Massey. And you know there will be doodles throughout the year, and specifically doodle-notes from SXSWedu. Chances are you’ll see a lot more of my new dog, Stella, as she grows…and grows…and grows. This one’s gonna get big!

So, drop in again and watch where we go this year!
