Songs of Will T. Massey — “Brand New Game”

Will T. Massey

Will never released this song to the public, but he did record it and send it out on a private 5-song CD. This video comes from a rare live performance during his 2007 tour of Italy, recorded at Spaziomusica in Pavia, Italy.

Sad to say I just heard the greatly beloved venue is shutting its doors, a great loss but a hell of a legacy in many hearts.

Thank you for my brief visit and all the incredible recordings available on your YouTube channel.

Used to be a run-around,
Had no home in this world.
Then I found all the charms
Of the love of a girl.

And she knows when I walk out the door,
When I’m back, I will still be the same.
She don’t care what I’ve been through before —
Love makes a brand new game.

I could try all the ways
To get high on life —
None had the pull
Of the ways of my wife.

And she knows when I walk out the door,
When I’m back, I will still be the same.
She don’t care what I’ve been through before —
Love makes a brand new game.

You say it’s all all right,
Whatever got me through the night
when you were not around.
And you say there were no rules
Broken by this lonely fool,
Like a drifting lost & found.

You take it all
All the years tell the kiss
Held in your heart
Like the promise of bliss.

And I know when you walk through the door,
When you’re back, you will still be the same.
I don’t care what you’ve been through before —
Love makes a brand new game.

I don’t care what you’ve been through before —
Love makes a brand new game.
